THANKSGIVING DINNER BAGS
THANKSGIVING DINNER BAGS
For the past fifteen years, filling Thanksgiving dinner bags for recipients at the Vilas Food Pantry has become a tradition in our community. Students at Northland Pines Middle School and High School, Eagle River Elementary, St. Germain Elementary and Montessori School, SOAR High School, and Christ Lutheran School worked together to collect food items to fill Thanksgiving dinner bags for the pantry. The effort was also helped by Prince of Peace Church, First Congregational Church, St. Mary of the Snow’s Church, St. Peter’s Church, Conover Evangelical Free Church, St. Germain Evangelical Free Church, Incredible/River Valley Bank, Associated Bank, BMO Bank, Nicolet National Bank, Peoples State Bank, Great North Bank, Ripco Credit Union, Schilleman’s Bus Service, individuals from the Pines Community Wellness Center and many individuals from the community.
The bags were filled with the fixings for a tasty Thanksgiving dinner. Monetary donations were also contributed to help with the cost of the meat vouchers. The efforts of students, staff and community members helped to show how rewarding it can be to help someone else. The Thanksgiving bags were coordinated by Jacqueline Coghlan, a member of the Vilas Food Pantry Board. Thanks to all individuals who contributed in any way to make our food drive a success to provide a tasty Thanksgiving dinner and help put a smile on the faces of many families. The recipients at the pantry appreciate your generosity.
